Joseph M. Hoxworth, MD

Neuroradiologist

Chair, Division of Neuroradiology and Vice Chair, Department of Radiology at Mayo Clinic Phoenix

Associate Professor of Radiology at Mayo Clinic College of Medicine and Science

Dr. Hoxworth’s primary research focus within the discipline of neuroradiology is head & neck radiology with a particular emphasis on sinonasal imaging and head & neck cancer. In a separate area of interest, he and his colleagues developed a novel imaging method known as “digital subtraction myelography” for the detection of spinal cerebrospinal fluid (CSF) leaks, a technique which has subsequently become widely adopted for clinical use and helped to uncover the role of CSF-venous fistulae in this disorder.
