Dr. Golfinos is a national and international expert on the treatment of vestibular schwannomas and neurofibromatosis type 2. He founded the Gamma Knife Radiosurgery unit at NYU Langone, the first of its kind in New York City. His areas of research include the use of radiosurgery in the treatment of cerebral metastases and studies comparing the use of radiosurgery and surgery in the treatment of vestibular schwannomas. He is also the former President of the North American Skull Base Society.
